Happy almost Fall! Are you getting your pumpkin spiced latte on? Excited about not sweating every time you head to the car? I know I am!

As our own UCCL church children went back to school, anyone who is a parent/guardian feels that busyness of the summer fall away (get it?!?) as we acquiesce into a more structured routine of Autumn.

In our Youth and Family department,  I am super excited to announce four new teachers: Marianne, Arnold, Kiki and Tristan. These teachers have filled some gaps in our program allowing our children to be served with love and spiritual guidance. I am always in need of angels (teacher assistants) and teachers. The curriculum is provided for you and the craft. You just have to read the lesson in advance, ask questions and be ready to guide our children and learn in turn. I would love for you to lend your talents to our youth program. Have a special talent but can’t volunteer regularly? Are you crafty? Like to play an instrument or sing? I need YOU. Please see me or email me at: farnham.jenn@gmail.com to discuss.

This month we are focusing on: Willingness: A Choice, One Love: inclusion,  Expressing Gratitude and Experiencing God as Light in our continuing curriculum, The Joyful Path.In October/November, we will be delving into Star Wars and spirituality. Darth Vader beware. You are no match for light and love!

Our fifth Sunday of the month is always Youth and Family Sunday. We will be revising Old Turtle (same at our July Youth Sunday) with a new twist. Please make sure to mark your calendars for 9/30 as you won’t want to miss our youth exhibit their talents.

Our Fall youth retreats are underway. If you have a Uniteen (6th-8th grade), please contact me for more information. God’s Perfect Student is the theme for the retreat in St. Simons island 10/19-10/21. The Y.O.U. (9th-12th grade) Rally is also being held at St.Simon’s Island 11/2-11/4. The youth holds fundraisers to help pay for the cost and along with the generosity of our congregants aiding in assisting this important opportunity, it helps defray the cost for parents/guardians. Fundraiser TBA very soon.

Sunday school starts at 10:30 when the adult service begins and you may drop off your children starting at 10:15 am. I hope to see all of you soon!

Namaste,
Jen
