Hello, friends and family at Unity Church for Creative Living!

Hope you are all having a wonderful back to school season. We have so much planned for the next couple of months!

First, put Saturday, September 24th on your calendar. From 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. there is a mandatory meeting for anyone who works in the YFM department. We'll be having a delicious breakfast as well as discussing policy and procedures. If you have ever thought about volunteering with us, please come! If you currently volunteer and can't make this meeting, give me a call and let's talk about an alternate date.

We are currently studying the 12 Powers using a curriculum written by our own Rev. Peggy Grove. This week we are talking about Imagination! This curriculum will take us into November, when we'll be studying gratitude and move into Advent for the Christmas Season.

There is a fifth Sunday in October, which means we'll be having a Kid's Sunday again. It's always a fun time as the kids step into roles usually reserved for adults. I hope you'll be there with your children, there is a spot for everyone. We have some enormously talented children and want to give everyone a chance to shine! We will have a couple of rehearsals in October, so be watching for more details to be announced.

Of course, October means Halloween, and we'll be having our Annual Trunk or Treat and Haunted Garden on Saturday, October 29 from 7 – 9. Plan to bring your Trunk and your kids. This is so much fun! Whether you have children or not, plan to come and volunteer for this event. We need people to help decorate the garden, as well as act as guides.

In short:

  • Mandatory Volunteer Training Breakfast September 24, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

  • Trunk or Treat and Haunted Garden October 29, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

  • Kids Sunday October 30, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
