“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Spring is almost here. Can you believe it? It seems like it was just Christmas, doesn’t it? We have welcomed several new beautiful families to our church lately which makes my heart happy. Please make sure you’re receiving my monthly emails and if you’re not, see me so I can add you and keep you in the loop.

We are continuing with our “Joyful Path” curriculum for March. We are learning the metaphysical/Unity interpretation of the Bible and learning parables that help our children think about the world they live in and how to use practical spirituality in their everyday life.  My goal is that our teachers help our sweet little ones to know how beautifully unique they are and that the more they learn to connect to spirit, the less stressful and more joyful their lives become.

Last month, we explored our church garden through a lesson on spirit in nature and did a walking meditation and learned how to respect the planet and the world around us with our special guest, Ed Boardman, who taught us about the numerous vegetation in the garden and how we are a part of the earth and universal energy. Another lesson taught the parable of the Prodigal son and the children learned that forgiveness and love for family is vitally important. A recent lesson taught the children how mindset is completely within their control. Our thoughts become our actions. We practiced harnessing our positive energy through listening to music and a fun physical activity.

I’m looking forward to planning our next youth Sunday which is the last Sunday in April. I will be announcing rehearsals in April very soon so please be on the look-out for an email containing that information. We will be focusing on God in nature and there’s great opportunities for your children to speak, sing, and perform. These Sundays really give the children an opportunity for growth and leadership as well as to teach others what they learned in Sunday School.

If you have a Uniteen (6th-8th grade), our southeast Uniteen Retreat is April 13-15. We have a small group going and would love for your child to join us. Please see me for a flier and information. We are doing a bake sale fundraiser on March 18 to raise money to offset registration costs.

Please remember to ask your sweet child what we are learning in Sunday School and I’m happy to always discuss our weekly lesson. I love them to continue to use the spiritual lessons they are learning in their daily lives.

In Peace,
