A positive path for spiritual living

A June Message From Dixie!

June 7, 2016

Hello, friends and families!

Welcome to Summer at Unity Church for Creative Living!  Last month was a blast, and very busy. We had our Clean-Up Day, thanks to all our volunteers who showed up! The UCCL Talent Show was a big success, and so much fun, thanks to all the fabulous adults and children who performed, as well as those who helped with serving our meal and clean up. The theme for our Kids Sunday at church was What’s Next. Thanks to all the children who helped and a big Thank You to Destiny Schleuter, our Y.O.U. speaker for the day, who overcame a fear of public speaking to speak about her take on What’s Next, as well as Jazzy Bond, with her beautiful rendition of Tomorrow from Annie. Our own Scotty Huntsberry was on the guitar for our prelude, and we had Anna and Jacob and Eleanor and Kylie helping with ushering and Prayer Chaplaining. All the children helped sing You Are the Face of God! It was a lovely day, and we have some really talented Youth!

This Summer we are exploring Compassion, with lessons in June based on The Four Agreements. These lessons will help us remember to be compassionate to ourselves, as well as others, as we work on remembering to use these valuable tools!

  • Be Impeccable with Your Words

  • Don’t Assume Anything

  • Don’t Take Anything Personally

  • Always Do Your Best

This month’s big event at UCCL is our Creative Kids Camp:

Coming up this Summer we have a YOU retreat, Summer Connection 2016 in Asheville, NC, June 26th - July 1st. If your teen is interested in attending, please let me know asap.

We are also planning another trip down the Ichetucknee on July 22, and you won’t want to miss it! We meet at the church at 8 a.m. This is a family event, so please come and bring your kids! More details soon, but be sure to put this on your calendar!
