Can you believe it that school has been out for a solid month?!? Summer vacation the end of school, more free time for our children and lots of family vacations and fun. We will continue to have Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. through the summer.
Summer is a time for play, for children to be creative and less structured and to run, play, and use their imaginations. As attendance ebbs and flows in the summer at Sunday School, we sometimes have been meeting as one large group. It’s clear that our children have a special bond and I see this as the older children embrace, look out for, and mentor the younger ones.
We are continuing the Joyful path curriculum this month and will be focusing on:
Accessing inner guidance, infinite possibilities, being a part of creation, and letting go of worry. We always meet in circle time to connect with each other, share gratitude, say our prayers, read The Daily Word and tithe. Last month I really tried to emphasize to the children that prayer and meditation are very important ways of connecting, talking, and listening to God.
This month we have a fifth Sunday which means it’s Children’s Sunday. This Sunday Rev. Yvonne will be presenting a special message that will be entertaining for families. Children and babies will sit with their parents/caregivers in the service.
We continue to sponsor Nafissa, our sponsored World Vision, inc, child in Niger. The children wrote her birthday wishes and letters last month about their lives and asked her about her life. Please remember to pick up some bakery items (bread, muffins, cakes, muffins) and leave your generous donation so we can continue to sponsor Nafissa.
I will be emailing parents this month with updates on lessons. If you want to receive a monthly email, please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Coming up next month, we will be having a back to school celebration party in August.
