Happy New Year 2018! I love the start of a new year as it brings on reflection and hope for personal growth and improvement in the coming year. It’s a time to start over fresh and new.
2017 brought new families to Sunday School, high energy and enthusiasm for our Harry Potter inspired Lumindorf school, a wonderful Children’s Sunday in October with lots of beautiful participation and talent, a Christmas Advent curriculum which concluded the year, and a bake sale to buy livestock for families in third world countries. We raised $250 which enabled us to buy 14 animals for needy families. Children were given gift bags on the third and fourth Sunday. One of the gifts was a reflective journal with the Prayer of Protection for each child so they can write their daily thoughts and affirmations. Please encourage them to use their journals. We know as adults that journaling is a wonderful tool for personal and spiritual growth.
As we continue to grow, we welcome new teacher, Ray Gibson, who comes to us with experience from teaching Unity Sunday School. I am very happy to see our program grow. If you have been attending our church and have a tug in your heart to volunteer as an YF Angel (assistant teacher) or teacher, please see me. We also have spots for craft angels who like to share their talents, snack angels, and music angels. Do you have a special talent? Please see me and let’s share that talent! I believe when we support families and the youth of our church, we all are stronger as a church family.
Also, we have Uniteen and Y.O.U rallies coming up in the Spring so please be on the lookout for these announcements and fundraising opportunities coming soon. Rallies are a great way for your child to grow in spirit and community.
In love and gratitude,
