Happy New Year, everyone!
I hope your holiday was everything beautiful. I know mine was. Tons of family and food and best of all, grandchildren. ;) I’m excited to start our new year at UCCL with a Youth Sunday on January 29th. Our children will participate in our Service in the Sanctuary, so be ready for a fun, but also meaningful lesson from the kids. They are young, but in my experience, when we take the time to listen, we find that the children are profound.
In addition to having the children involved in the service, we will be doing a great fun(d)raiser, our Potato Bake! We will have baked potatoes and yams and all the trimmings, along with salad and dessert. Suggested love offering is $5 and as always, we take donations! Please let me know if your children can be involved. There are different roles to be played, and we will work to find a spot for your child to shine. We need Usher help, Prayer Chaplain help, Greeting help as well as roles in our skit and a singer or two. If one of our teens wishes to offer a short message, there will be time for that.
We will be holding one or two rehearsals before the 28th. I would also love to have donations for the supplies for our baked potato bar. This helps us apply all of the proceeds to support our YFM programs, including sending teens to Uniteens and Y.O.U. rallies. Give me a call and we can discuss what is needed. 678.266.7679 Thanks!
We have an upcoming Uniteen Retreat I’d like you to consider for your child. We have about a month until registration is due, and the retreat is scheduled for February 24 - 26, 2017.
And for our YOUers, we have a rally scheduled March 31 - April 2nd, and I’d love to have some of our YOUers attend this! You’ll find the flyer attached below. You may not know, but I am the SE Unity Ministries YOU Consultant, and plan the YOU retreats with our teenage Regional Representatives. I attend and supervise these retreats, so I’ll be there!
