Hello, families and friends!
It has been a wild and wonderful summer. We had a great time in June with our Creative Kids Camp. The Buddy Bench we painted with Lisa Petrich is in the garden and it is lovely! The trip down the Ichetucknee River in July was fabulous, and I hope you’ll all get it on your calendar for your families next year!
We learned about Compassion and Kindness this Summer, and with that in mind, I want to share a link with you. These are some great ways to teach compassion to your children! Check this out!
We began a series this weekend, with Rev. Peggy Grove there to help us launch her 12 Powers Superheroes Program! The kids learned about Faith with Franklin Faith, and on Sunday the 21st, they’ll be learning about Love! The last Sunday in August we’ll be covering the Power of Strength. So, if your kids want to be color coordinated with our lesson, pink is for Love and green for strength!
Now that everyone is back in school, I hope to see those of you who have been busy vacationing and visiting family this Summer! You were missed!
On another note, while we did sign up some new volunteers for YFM a couple of months ago, it has been challenging to get people scheduled regularly this Summer. Now that school is back in session, I’ll be talking to all of my volunteers and getting commitments for the school year. We are having a training on Saturday, September 24th at 9 a.m. I’ll serve a delicious breakfast, and we’ll have a training for our teachers. If any of you feel called to explore volunteering with any age group, please plan to attend. If some of you can’t make Saturday, I am willing to do a training Friday the 23rd, in the evening. Let me know.
Looking forward to an awesome school year!
Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions or comments.
